Out with the old
This property had undergone multiple past extensions but required a complete renovation to modernise it for a young family looking to make it their home.
The kitchen lacked any real sense of connection to the rest of the home.
The space was stuck in the past and begging for a modern revivial.
A new welcome
We added a new front extension, creating a porch and bay window that not only elevate the entrance but frame stunning sea views.
Bi-fold doors blur the line between home and garden, bringing a sense of nature all year round.
Light & life at the back
The rear extension was reimagined with two skylights and a striking glass wall, flooding the space with natural light and connecting the home to its garden.
Designed for living
Three bathrooms and three bedrooms were completely renovated, alongside the utility room, office, dining area, and an open-plan kitchen/diner and snug, now the heart of the home.
Built to last
The property was fitted with powder-coated aluminium glazing throughout, a wet underfloor heating system on the ground floor, and an entirely new plumbing and heating setup for long-term performance.
Future-ready
A full rewire brought the house up to modern standards, with integrated data and smart tech to handle the demands of contemporary family life.
Put simply, SJL Carpentry and Design LTD have helped us achieve the home of our dreams. We undertook a large project on an old house and naturally there will always be the odd hiccups and bump along the way. Nothing seemed to phase this team and we were left realising there weren’t any concessions on the project.
